The Cruising Yacht Club of Australia has taken out first and second place in the CentrePort International Youth Match Racing Championships. Henry Kernot and his team of Sam Ellis and local Wellington sailor Adam Middleton continued their excellent form throughout the week to beat Murray Jones, Harry Price and Ben Robinson in the final.

The 2015 CentrePort International Youth Match Racing Championships are set to take place from the 18th to 22nd of February.

Adam Middleton, Michael Cook and William Eastman sailing for Royal Port Nicholson Yacht Club have convincingly won the 2014 CentrePort International Youth Match Racing Championships.

It was a long day on the water for the sailors in the CentrePort Youth Match Racing Champs as the race officer Ken Burt pushed through the end of the first round robin and twelve flights of the second round robin ahead of a predicted storm on day three.

There was a gloomy outlook for day 1 of the CentrePort International Youth Match Racing Championship with Wellington harbour covered in a thick blanket of fog that showed few signs of moving. Luckily, just before midday, the fog made way for a beautifully steady 10-15 knot southerly.

The 2014 CentrePort International Youth Match Racing Championships is underway.

There are eight teams in the 2013 CentrePort International Youth Match Racing Champs … one team from Sweden (with kiwi imports!), four teams from Australia, one from Auckland and two from the host city Wellington. Check out photos of the teams.
